Whether you're doing laps in the pool or taking a dip in the ocean, this tight pod will make sure you're always looking killer.

The good news is our swimsuits are super stretchy and forgiving, so will fit a variety of different body shapes and sizes.

Tip: use the size guide below as intended = a guide. Remember that our fabric is stretchy so will work around the average measurements shown. If you're between sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit and the larger size for a looser fit. If your measurements are coming out at different sizes completely, go for your normal clothing size.

How To Measure Yourself

With a measuring tape, measure around the fullest part of your chest.

Measure tightly around the narrowest part of your waist.

Measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Measure from the highest point of your shoulder down over the fullest part of your bust, through your legs and up your back to the starting point. If your measuring tape isn't long enough, take the measurement from shoulder to crotch, then do the same down across your back and add the two measurements together.

We do not offer replacements or refunds for wear and tear, so we encourage you to follow our extensive care guide to ensure your swimsuit lasts.

Our swimsuits are made in small batches and can sometimes sell out during busy periods, therefore we've found that the most effective way to service an exchange is for you to reorder via our website and send us the unwanted item back for a refund. This should ensure that the item you want is still available and you will receive it much quicker than having to wait for your return to process.

Care instructions are boring important, really important. Yet so often over-looked. Clothing longevity is not only determined by the quality and how well it's been made, but also how it's looked after. Here is how to take proper care of your swimsuit, so you can enjoy it for longer.

Wear Guide

Every piece of fabric, whether natural or synthetic, is made up of lots of tiny fibers all woven tightly together. Damage can occur if something catches one of these tiny fibers and pulls it. Likewise if something rough is rubbed against the fabric this will create pilling, a fuzzy affect on the surface of the fabric which we sometimes call "bobbling" in England. Fabric bobbling is essentially tiny pulls and breaks in the fibers. These are mainly aesthetic issues and will not necessarily create problems with wear unless continuously treated this way. It's possible to avoid these issues by being mindful of the surfaces and materials you come into contact with.

For example, we do not recommend wearing our swimsuits under denim shorts. Denim is a rough fabric and so may cause friction, leaving bobbling on the surface of the fabric. If you are wearing your swimsuit as a top or under clothes, opt for softer, light-weight fabrics instead such as linen. Be mindful of friction from shoulder bag straps too. Sitting on the edge of a swimming pool and dragging yourself into the pool will also catch the fibres, leaving you with a bobbly bottom. If you swim regularly in chlorinated pools, please read our extensive Chlorine Guide below.

Washing Guide

We encourage you to wash your BATOKO swimsuit less. Not only will this prolong the life of your swimsuit, but it's also better for the environment. Ensure that you always rinse your swimsuit with clean water after every use to remove any salt or chlorine. When it's time for a good wash, fill a sink with clean water and add a small amount of natural detergent (non bleach/no softeners). Swish your swimsuit around in the sink for 10 minutes, rubbing gently with a clean wet cloth where needed. You may need to repeat the process for more stubborn marks.

We advise against machine washing swimwear because all that tumbling around causes delicates (underwear/swimwear) to degrade more quickly. If you find that hand washing alone isn't enough, a one-off 'deep clean' in the washing machine may just do the trick. Opt for the eco-setting, on a short cycle 30c or below. Do not mix with rough fabrics like denim and make sure there are no clothes with zips, buttons or velcro that could catch and pull at the swimsuit. Generally only washing with other swimwear and underwear is best. We always recommend using a guppy-bag to catch any loose microfibers. Learn more about microfibers here.

Do not use bleach, bleach-based detergents or softeners. Do not iron or dry clean your swimsuit. Sun safety comes above all else, however unfortunately sunscreen and lotions can sometimes cause stains, so just be extra careful where you apply and spray.

Drying Guide

Simply lay your swimsuit flat on a drying rack or flat surface and leave it to dry. This can be outside or inside, but preferably in a warm and dry environment. If you need it to dry super fast, lay it out under the sun for 10 minutes. Don't worry, the colours won't fade.

Do not machine dry your swimsuit. Drying your swimsuit in a tumble dryer or similar will heat up and break apart all the woven fibers throughout the fabric and will dramatically reduce the longevity of your swimsuit.

After use, do not attempt to squeeze the excess water out of your swimsuit by twisting or scrunching it, as this may break the fibers and cause your swimsuit to loose shape. Instead simply roll it in your towel, which should soak up the excess water until you get home. Some swimming baths and spas often have a convenient drying machine in the changing rooms that will partially dry your swimwear by tumbling it around. We strongly advise against tumbling your favourite BATOKO swimsuit through these machines.

Never leave your swimsuit wet at the bottom of your bag for any period of time as this creates a breeding ground for mould and bacteria. Mould will appear like little black dots which aren't easy to remove and can leave behind permanent stains, especially on lighter fabrics.

Chlorine Guide

As a conscious choice with the environment in mind, our swimwear has not been treated with chlorine-resistant coating or chemicals. Polyester is a hardy fabric that is generally very resistant to chlorine if cared for correctly. If you swim regularly in chlorinated pools, we advise alternating between different swimsuits to give each one a break, as well as with following the care instructions detailed below.

Extra care and attention will need to be taken when using your BATOKO swimsuit in a chlorinated pool (this also includes hot tubs or any other chemical-treated water). Always shower before getting into the swimming pool, not only is this recommended from a hygiene perspective but it also helps to dilute the chlorine when it first hits your swimsuit. Rinse with clean water immediately after swimming. Still wet, lay it flat on a towel and gently roll it up. As soon as you get home, rinse through clean water again to ensure you get all the chlorine off, add a little natural detergent (non bleach/ no softener) if you can still smell the chlorine. They lay it flat to dry.

What not to do after swimming in chlorine. Don't wait until you get home to rinse - we advise rinsing your swimsuit immediately after swimming because if chlorine is left on your swimsuit for an extended period of time it will begin to break down the fabric resulting in loss of stretch and thinning of fabric. Swimming each week and not rinsing the chlorine off entirely each time will cause the swimsuit to break down much quicker.

How to tell if your swimsuit is showing signs of chlorine degrade. If you look closely at the fabric, you may notice tiny fibers sticking out. These are little breakages in the fabric where the fibers have essentially snapped. You may notice areas where the fabric is thinning and the swimsuit may begin losing shape. Unfortunately all these issues are irreversible, however can be kept at a minimum by following our extensive care guide.
