Samples are perfectly wearable swimsuits with small imperfections such as mis-labelling, print errors or marks mainly caused by human-error during production or transportation. These are known as "factory seconds" in the fashion industry, with millions of pieces of clothing being sent to landfill and incinerated (burned) each year, adding harmful and avoidable carbon emissions to the atmosphere.
Grade 1 = Almost perfect. For example, the clothing labels may be missing or printed with the wrong size. There may be internal marks or very small external marks.
Grade 2 = Less than perfect. For example, there may be more visible external marks or the print may have small defects in some areas.
Grade 3 = Imperfect. For example, there may be some larger external print errors or marks and there may be some stitching errors.
